Kalavros Reef

A really deep reef

Kalavros reef is a deep reef between Kastelli cape and Kalavros islet where from it was named.

It is located at the center of the “Diving park” at about 2,5 n.miles from Melitchacha port. 

The reef is visible from the surface on a good weather. The shallowest depth is at about 8m and goes down to 80 meters. 

The reef is large enough for a dive lasting 35-40 minutes. The dive site is suitable for a minimum diving level of Open Water Diver.

Throughout the journey we meet colourful sponges, sea anemones, moray eels, nudibranch, starfish, shells, octopus, fish and green, red and brown seaweeds on the rocks.

If we are lucky enough we may encounter herds of dolphins, tuna fish and barracudas.
