Scuba diving Greece
The Greek seabed is now available to scuba divers.
For the protection of antiquities you could scuba only in a few reserved areas. While you could snorkel and free dive almost everywhere.
Since 2006 this has changed. Now you can scuba dive everywhere in the Greek seas. Except from specific areas reserved for antiquities protection. And in areas that it is dangerous for divers (like ports or where there is a lot of marine traffic).
Do not scuba dive in restricted areas!
An do not to pick up anything from the sea. Even if it is a small piece of a broken amphora. If you want to see an ancient wreck and amphoras, visit the Valsamidis Sea World Museum.
